A bee swarm happens when a local bee colony reproduces or goes in search of a new hive location. Although it may look and sound scary, the good news is that swarming bees are often at their most docile. They're just looking for a safe place to build a new home.
It's important that swarms are collected carefully to ensure the safety of both people and bees. Please do not attempt to poison the bees. If a swarm is not removed before it becomes established in a permanent location, removing the bees becomes far more costly.
In most cases, Bees in Boxes LLC will remove a bee swarm at no charge if the bees are easy to access and have not yet moved into a structure.
Here are some of the things we'd like to know when you call:
1. Can you take a picture of the bees and send it to us?
2. Are the bees located on your property, on public property, or on someone else's property?
3. How long have the bees been in that location?
4. Are the bees on a structure or in a tree, and how high are they off the ground?
